Phase 2 detox pathway
Phase 2 detox pathway focuses on reformulating or conjugating water soluble phase 1 metabolites. It does this by using 6 different pathways that complete the breakdown of toxins and remove them from your body through bile, poop and urine.
Phase 2 nutrients needs for detox:
- Amino acids – glycine, glutamine, cysteine, methionine and taurine. Cysteine, methionine and taurine are sulfur-containing, which is really important for glutathione production (Pizzorno, 2014).
