And a Giant it is! MonaVie is now 4.5 years old. The company has enrolled over a Million Distributors. It is the fastest Growing Network Marketing company hitting nearly $1 Billion in Sales. This is a very impressive track record and speaks volumes of the Utah-based management team. On a recent visit to their head-quarters in South Jordan, I was impressed by the culture of the organisation. There is clear evidence of principle-based leadership and it shows in the company’s results.
So what should a Newbie marketer look for? And is MonaVie it?
I am going to share my personal experience with the MonaVie product and business model. I have been using the juice for some months now as part of my research to find a comfortable fit for my online marketing business. I personally like the taste of the juice and I have seen great benefits in my kids – no runny noses, headaches or seasonal viruses and therefore no days off school. This is a great benefit for a home-working mom! However, to put this experience in context, each person will have their own opinion and the only way you are going to establish whether this is a great product for you and your family is to try it out!
As many of you have asked: “Clare, why are you seriously looking at the MonaVie business opportunity?”
Here are some of the reasons I decided to take a serious look at MonaVie as a potential fit for my business:
a. At 4.5 years old, MonaVie has overcome any start-up risks and established itself into a stable company.
b. Now nearly a $1 Billion sales business – it is the fastest growing Network Marketing company ever to reach this size.
c. They sell four varieties of high anti-oxidant health juices and in June 2009, they launched Emv, an energy drink. It is inevitable that they will now expand their range but I personally like the limited product range because it makes marketing simpler. The Emv is a wonderful tasting energy drink and it has already out-stripped the juice sales. I am not surprised.
d. MonaVie is run by a very impressive group of deep-rooted leaders headed by Dallin Larsen. Dallin has a long successful history in Network Marketing and I believe that this is a very important factor in MonaVie’s success. He understands his sales force and what motivates them. MonaVie has created more millionaire earners than any other Network Marketing company and I believe this is connected to the company’s culture and executive management.
However, on the down-side for me personally:
a. The MonaVie opportunity is primarily show-cased via tasting parties and attending business presentations. It does not lend itself naturally to an online style of marketing. Why? People buy products online everyday. However, realise that Network Marketing flourishes on a person-to-person sales presentation and with a product like Monavie, it is much easier to do this by giving someone a taste of the juice or EMV at a live presentation. Nothing can replace the in-situ experience of tasting and experiencing a juice. I know this from being a health practitioner and having my clients come to see me personally. Whilst I can consult on-line, the experience for both myself and the client is very different. It may not be worse, just different. Marketing MonaVie online requires a different approach and I personally have decided that there are services that are more aligned to internet marketing than MonaVie.
b. Most of the leaders in MonaVie have a very long successful track record in Network Marketing before they joined MonaVie. They have enormous networks and this is not their first success.
c. To be able to sell enough product on a consistent basis and over-come the high attrition rate ( up to 85%) is very difficult. Most people do not realise just how difficult this business really is before they are promised an easy ride by an over-enthusiastic distributor so inevitably they quit within 90 days of finding out the truth.
d. MonaVie is not truly a global opportunity. Whilst MonaVie is available in 13 countries ( and counting), this is a small number when you are recruiting online. You want to be able to market to a global audience and so do your team members.
In conclusion, you can see I am extremely positive about MonaVie and it may be right for you if you have an established network in an area where they operate, or you are enthusiastic about hosting lots of tasting parties. This is a specialised business approach and there are people who are extremely successful at it.
However, if you are a complete beginner looking to the internet to create a revenue stream either primary full-time income or secondary part-time income, I believe that there are better opportunities than MonaVie.
What you have to do to become successful is work on yourself. Personal development is the key to all Network marketing success. Your own growth will determine your success – not the juice you drink!
