Continuing the Health Blog Awareness Month – NHBPM- Day 5! Today I share three things I am most grateful for!
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” – Oprah Winfrey
Firstly, I am grateful for my recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)!
Without the help of many friends and health professionals, I doubt I would be doing what I am doing today and living a healthy, energetic life.
However, I was also gifted with determination and tenacity and despite my exhaustion and pain, I never gave up looking for ways to improve my health.
I maintained an attitude of gratitude despite my illness and it paid off just as Oprah says in her quote above.
And it continues today, I never stop learning about ways to improve both my own health and the health of others.
Secondly, I am grateful for my children. I am so blessed to have three healthy, naturally born sons.
They are my why.
And it was my Chronic Fatigue recovery, that brought them into my life.
I underwent cellular detoxification that changed years of unknown infertility.
And Jason was born in my 44th year giving hope to thousands of women that your forties are not too late to become a mother if this is your dream. Never give up!
Thirdly, I am grateful to God for giving me hope and faith everyday to share my story and testimony with others.
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (NLT)
This is the scripture I have read and meditated upon each morning for many years. Gratitude starts my day each morning. It truly is a new day and there is hope in every hour of every day.
I am able to share my story and inspire others to change their lives. I believe in miracles and I have witnessed many miracles. Everything is possible if you believe!
What are you grateful for? Leave your comments below. I look forward to reading them.

Hi Clare. I enjoyed reading this post. I love meeting fellow ‘gratefuls’ , as it were. Gratitude can make a 360 degree difference in one’s life. And the sad thing is that ungrateful people are never satisfied. I’m glad you were able to have your children and that you health has improved. My mom always said that if you have your health, you have everything, and I’ve come to appreciate that more in my later years. I appreciate your sharing your story.
All the best,
Leslie

Clare, you and I have something very special in common… I was in my 47th year when my youngest, Nathaniel, was born!
Oprah is so right about the importance of being thankful for what you do have, and not fretting about what you don’t. Just today I was talking to my oldest daughter, who is thankful she and her husband didn’t have to move back to his home in So California when they first got married, because that’s when our oldest son James was taken from us in a highway accident. Had our daughter and son-in-law left then, Nathaniel would have lost BOTH his oldest brother and sister, when he was only 10. There is always something to be thankful for, and we don’t have to look far to find it.

Hi Willena,
Thanks for sharing what you are so grateful for and I am happy to learn of our mutual joy in becoming a mom again in our 40′s. I cannot even begin to imagine how devastating losing your son was for you. And you are right, life situations like that make us more thankful for every day we share with loved ones. Clare
Hi Clare,
it is so good to read your story of recovery and congratulations on becoming a mother ‘against all odd’ with 44, wow!
Chronic Fatigue is a real challenge and I have experienced it myself.
Are you now symptom free?
Thank you so much for sharing your story!
